The regal tiger, known as the king of the jungle, reigns supreme in this secure habitat alongside other formidable predators such as leopards, wild dogs, wolves, and hyenas. The elusive sloth bear finds its haven amidst the rock escarpments and serene valleys.

Within the wooded expanses, you'll encounter the majestic sambar, the largest of Indian deers, gracefully sharing the landscape with chital and chowsingha. The grasslands, especially on the periphery, offer sightings of the Blue Bull and chinkara.

The avian residents of Panna include over 200 species, including migratory birds. Witness the elegant White-necked stork, Bar-headed goose, Honey Buzzard, Blossom-headed Parakeet, Paradise flycatcher, Slaty-headed Scimitar babbler, and an array of vultures.

The reserve's climate, characterized by dry and hot conditions, coupled with the shallow Vindhyan soils, gives rise to a unique vegetation profile. Dry Teak and mixed forests dominate, interwoven with grassland areas. The major forest types include riverines, open grasslands, open woodlands with tall grasses, and thorny woodlands.

Key tree species such as Tectona grandis, Diospyros melanoxylon, Madhuca indica, Buchnania latifolia, Anogeissus latifolia, Anogeissus pendula, Lannea coromandelica, and Bosswelia serrata define the landscape. Shrubs like Lantana camera, Grewia sp., Nyctanthus arbortristis, Ixora sp., and Zyziphus mauritiana, along with dominant grass species like Apluda mutica, Themeda quadrivalvis, Meteropogon contortus, and Arishtida sp., contribute to the rich biodiversity of Panna Tiger Reserve.
